Posting:
Use the search function
In order to prevent double posting, cross postings and the creation of duplicate topics (a new topic which there is already a topic for).
Properly descriptive topic title
This makes it easier for everyone to find what they are looking for. The mods do not have the time to read every topic and may move something based on the topic title if a mod comes across a topic and the purpose of it is unclear based on the topic title. Try to refrain from using topic titles like "Please help!" or "Have you heard of this?"; try to place the actual subject in the title.
Topic posted in the relevant forum.
Users are asked to read the forum descriptions before posting. Members consistently posting to the wrong forum may be given a warning.
No posting or requesting of copyrighted material
Posts and topics containing magazine scans, links to pirated music and other media, etc. will be removed. Posting links of wares for sale (eBay, your own site, Cafepress, etc.) is okay, as long as you are not selling copyrighted material or spamming people, and you are a legitimate member of the community.
No double posting
Double posting is defined as posting more than once in a row in the same topic so that your replies are directly together with no other posts between. Edit your post using the EDIT button if less than 24 hours old. For posts over 24 hours old, please ask moderator staff to make necessary additions or changes by using the report [!] button.
No cross-forum posting
Posting of the same topic in different sections of the forum.
No excessive yelling in CAPS
Emphasizing certain words of your posts which is okay, but all caps and alternating caps are not.
No Spamming
Spamming is considered, but not limited to, very short posts that do not add value to the current discussion. In general, they serve no purpose other than upping one's post count. Spam posts will be deleted.
Quoting
The more times something is quoted the more times the search function has to pull up the same words. It slows down the search and the backup.
  • Do not quote the person that posted directly before you on the same page or the original post
  • Keep quotes short
Only quote passages that you are responding to, especially when responding to very long posts.
  • Do not quote large groups of pictures.
If responding to a large group of pictures just pick one or two or just mention which ones you are referring to, particularly if they are in the post directly before yours.
First post are automatically placed in the moderation queue and will be approved/disapproved according to the present Rules.
The above where applicable also applies to private message. Abuse of the private messaging system may lead to warnings and/or the revocation of private messaging.

If a member feels uncomfortable with a topic being discussed, please respect their wishes and either continue discussion outside the chat or change the topic. Disciplinary actions:
The Asylum moderating staff reserve the right to remove or edit any content posted by members, including offensive and copyrighted materials, at any time or for any reason, without notice, in accordance with these rules. This content includes but is not limited to:
    Sexual content
    Offensive materials
    Disrespectful posts
Bullying or cyber-bullying of another member
Bashing another member or a person from the moderator staff
    False information or rumors
When topics and or posts are edited, deleted, moved or otherwise altered, it has been done so for a reason. You may privately contact a mod if you would like an explanation for any action taken.
All correspondence with the moderators staff
should include your username, email address, and short summary of the problem encountered. And should be sent to the appropriate moderator based on the section.
The Moderator staff of this forum reserves the right to suspend or ban any member at any time or for any reason in accordance with these rules and/or in their sole discretion.
  • Bans and warnings are between the member and the moderator staff and we are not at liberty to discuss the situation with any outside parties.
  • The length of a ban will be determined at the sole discretion of the moderator staff and management.
  • The level of severity and degree of disruption caused by the offense will be considered along with members past history.
Example of Duration of disciplinary actions:
    Warning: (Example: belittling another member)
    • 1st offense – Private Warning, sent through PM
    • 2nd offense – Official board warning
    • 3rd offense – minimum 1 week temporary ban
    • 4th offense - Restriction of privileges - minimum 1 month (post approval, no chat access, and no PM access except to contact members of the moderator staff)
    • 5th offense - Permanent Ban
        With exceptions
      Automatic 3 day (minimum) ban:
      • Posts publicly a private message or conversation from a member of the Moderator staff
      • Contacts publicly or a private message a member of the Moderator staff inquiring about another member’s ban
      Automatic permanent ban:
      • Posting of messages behalf of members who have been banned, either temporary or permanently.
      • Multiple accounts
Any attempt to circumvent a ban or warning
will lead to a permanent ban of your account(s). Circumvention includes re-registering or using an already registered account under a non-banned username. Other examples include changing IP addresses, using a new email account or other action that can be taken to evade moderator action to hide your identity as the owner of the sanctioned account.
    Permanent bans
are a last resort and thought is given before implementing them. While the moderator staff may consider lifting permanent bans from time to time this is a rare occurrence.
Please remember that moderators are also members
and are dedicating their free time to preserving the integrity of the site for every member’s enjoyment. Please make sure you treat them with the respect they deserve. Moderators are not employees of Emilie Autumn; they work as volunteers.
Members are able to dispute a ban or warning using the appropriate form and information. (See topic or e-mail if banned)
This form only needs to be filled if ban or warning occurs after October 5th, 2012. For bans or warnings before this date an e-mail letter is acceptable
