Holy fish tits! I'm surprised that the most surprising part about this book (so far) is Emilie's mention of her trichotillomania.

This is ridiculously bizarre to me personally because I have it as well, and have always thought how although Emilie does have a lot of problems, trichotillomania is DEFINITELY not one of them because I've seen plenty of photos of her and not noticed any signs of it. In fact, I was just thinking that while reading the book that day, or maybe the day before, and I'd come across a page with a photo of her.

I suppose she probably doesn't do it as much and maybe that's why I've never noticed it...or she's just good at hiding it.

I once read an entry about how she was cutting bits of he hair the whole time. I figured that that is why she has such short hair now.

I used to do that when I was younger. Its very hard to explain. XD Such a strange urge.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who related to this.

I still continue to pull both my eyebrows and eyelashes out. Not so noticable, but it's kind of a nervous habit.

She's really great at putting on makeup, so it wouldn't surprise me if she painted her eyebrows, and as we all know there are false eyelashes out there :P

Wow. I finally know why I pull my hair out: trichotillomania. Who would have thought it? At least I know why now, for the most part...

Paula Deen has to wear false eyelashes because she also pulls out her eyelashes :)

I don't think EA has Trichomania.

Please people who now have decided that their hair-pulling is this disorder as well,
be careful with self-diagnosing. I can not recommend doing that without seeing someone
who can really diagnose it. It can also be a part of something bigger like ocd for example.

Emilie never explained why and how she did it, and it could be past tense, something
she does not do anymore. That's why you don't see signs of it.

Good point Corset, it's probably actually just OCD. The hair cutting thing isn't really trich-related, I don't think, because she was just cutting the ends, but it does sound kind of obsessive compulsive.

Whatever it actually is, no matter, I was still schocked to find out that tidbit of info!
