One day, I was offered a ride by my friend and her sister to school. She was playing "Dead is The New Alive" And it was pretty interesting. I hadn't asked any other questions about the song, but i did enjoy it.

Months later, as i was searching music on YouTube, i happened upon the same song that was played that day. It was definitely recognizable. Since then, My music horizon has altered, and grown :)

Ah, fate ^^

A few years ago I was checking someone's profile on facebook, and I saw Emilie Autumn in their Music section. I loved the name and the thumbnail, I clicked it, and got immediately hooked. She has been my all-time favorite artist ever since. First song I listened to was Opheliac and it has been one of my favorite songs ever since.

I'd seen her before and thought "omg she's gorgeous" but not realised she made music.
Then I made a couple of friends who loved her, went to one of their houses, saw a poster of her and was like "who is she?"

Myspace, actually. Livejournal then myspace. I heard "Opheliac" "I Know Where You Sleep" and "Liar" and I was like "OMFG YES!!!!!" and I was like, "God she's so fucking hot."

I spread the sickness. To my friend Carolyn. She's older than me but she's such a close friend of mine. We're Opheliacs. I just got the tattoo. She works a straight job. She has hidden ones though. We go to every show here in Dallas. Sadly, we've never been able to make VIP. I wish oh wish I one day have VIP tickets. ;_; I swear.

Or be in the Rat game! To have Veronica pick me! Oh my! *_*

I love them all. Her music is so good. I love all of it! And her poetry and everything else!

I truly hadn't heard of of until I heard about The Devil's Carnival was coming out. I am a huge REPO! The Genetic Opera muffin and I of course had to see TDC. I fell in love with Emilie and the Painted Doll character and after I got home from the movie I started looking up her videos on YouTube and listening to her music on Pandora. So my first song I had heard of hers that I knew was hers (I had heard her stuff from the Saw movies, but didn't know it was hers yet) was "Prick, Goes the Scorpion's Tail" from TDC but the first from her own albums was "Opheliac".

A friend of mine showed me some of her songs like Opheliac and Gothic Lolita, both of which kind of scared me but found her style eccentric. It was only a few Months ago when a mutual friend (now Girlfriend) told me more about EA's life and showed me more of her music. I'm actually more interested in her life story, rather than her music. She's just a very eccentric personality that I wish to learn a lot more about.

Mine isn't too interesting. A good friend of mine was (and still is) a huge muffin of EA and would listen to her constantly. I would inquire a few times but her speakers weren't the greatest either. I would hear bits of violin and words here or there but never really got into it until this friend sent me a few songs. I finally listened to them after a few months and the only way to express my attitude towards her music would be amazed.

From then on, I began listening to more, buying every song I could get my hands on. When I first began listening, I became particularly fond of Shalott. From then on, it's been alien to listen to anything but EA to the point of only finding relaxation by sitting down and listening to her either sing or recite poems.

A friend of mine on The Ocarina Network was talking about how he finally had money to buy her albums on iTunes. I said I didn't know who she was and so he proceeded to link me to some clips of her concerts on YouTube. Being a cellist I was so fascinated by how she incorporated the violin (acoustic and electric) into her songs and works and I really loved her lyrics. Laced-Unlaced was what I fell in love with first and remains (arguably) my favorite album of her's.

The rest is history...

The first time I saw Emilie was in the Orcus issue No.12 of 2007. I was immediately fascinated by this "doll" and the way she and her music have been described there, made me curious.

And I still have not regret having her songs heard purely on youtube. [face_rose]

I was google-ing courtney Love and she was mentioned a couple of times. I kept thinking who is she? so I listened to some of her songs. Then I too forgot about the song. "Liar" however really got me. but I forgot about her. Then this June I was epic-ly pissed off. her music help calm me down so she was like all I listen to. "gaslight" like made me an official plague rat. :D

It was through Spotify for me. I discovered her album Opheliac just under 2 years ago. I've been a muffin ever since.

I was having a music crisis in '09....Got tired of listening to the same old crap....So I talked to my best friend that lives 2hrs away from me, and she goes here, give me your email, for I have a surprise for you.........That surprise was the best surprise in my life....I am hooked. My best friend sends me I Want My Innocence Back with this message:
"This song sounds like it will suit you. Enjoy!"
....Enjoy it I have...And always will!

Back in early 2006 my mom took me to Hot Topic and back then they still had their music section. I found this lovely little CD with a really pretty goth girl on it. It had a mixture of 24band on it and Song 7 on disc 1 was EA's Shallot, I love that CD so much (although I lost the DVD companion YEARS ago. After that (Listening to shallot over and over and over and over again to the point I had to get it repaired) I looked her up on this new thing called YOUTUBE (was not popular at the time) and I fell in love! I had heard EA before this but this is the time when I became a muffin!

p.s. the CD was called Asleep By Dawn-DJ Ferret's Underground Club Mix!

Oh wow. I decided to take a look at my Spotify to see when I added EA to my library. Apparently I only discovered her early in Feb of this year. Feels like I've been listening to her forever. haha
