Let's see...

Take the pill that makes you weaker
Take the pill that makes you sick
Take the pill or you'll be sorry
Take this bloody pill, and make it quick

Take the pill that kills your sex drive
Take the pill that makes you cry
Take the pill that burns your insides
Take this pill that makes you want to die

Be careful what you say
(???) day

Take the pill that rules your body
You no longer own those rights
You will wait until we say so
You'll be sweet when we shut out the lights

(??)

Get back in line, get back in line...
(??)

Take the pill that makes you quiet
Take the pill that makes you blind
Take the pill that (ereases?) your memory
Take the pill that fucks with your mind

(??????? ; yes, I do suck at making out lyrics)

Get back in line, get back in line...

And I leave the rest to you. x)

I didn't know what to expect with the new FLAG songs but I'm loving what I've heard so far. I think this album will be pretty diverse in styles and musical genres, G!G!G! being more musical-y, Take the Pill/Time for Tea being more industrial and OFIFOTOF being more anthem-y. I hope that she debuts more songs as the tour progresses.

I wasn't so excited for the album before but now I must have it! Hopefully sooner rather than later.

I was also really worried I would end up not liking the new album, but so far I like it for the most part! FLAG is a great song, G! G! G! is such a cute/hilarious performance, and Take The Pill and Time For Tea sound awesome! Gaslight is a pretty song, I'm still getting used to it though. And One Foot I'm not too crazy about, but hopefully I'll end up liking it. I can't wait for the album now!

I still have to warm up to Gaslight. I thought it would be much more delicate but when EA performs it she puts too much force and drama into her vocals. I'm sure I'll love the studio version (whenever it gets released), but until then I'm happy to listen to the other new songs.

For some reason I feel like the songs are a bit cheesy.... I like them, they are very 'story-telling' But there is something so 'theatre' about them.
Well when the record comes out we will see!

Okay, so for the past over 2 hours me and OctoberWolfe have been listening this video over and over again, trying to get the lyrics down. Now we haven't gotten quite everything yet, but we thought that a) you people could help us with getting it right and b) you might appreciate what we've gotten down so far :D So here is our rough draft of the lyrics to One Foot in Front of the Other!

There's a thread for the lyrics to the new songs.

Oh god, this is my absolute favourite FLAG song so far:

The strings sound amazing, and the vocals are great. And thpse creepy vocal harmonies near the end are incredible. God, this song is great, I can't stop replaying it.

The first line was actually twatted by Emilie herself, so I imagine it would be correct :P But you might well be right about the second one! And on some live clip Emilie sang "We fought ???" so I'm not 100% sure about which that is either. But that would make sense! Thanks!

I do think the line is "here we are all the same."
It makes more sense to me after the line about being just a number.
But both would fit I suppose.

^ I clearly heard it as "here we are all the same" in the clip provided, just to clarify my above statement. & I'm sure any line could vary from show to show... but we will have the little lyric booklet that accompanies the actual CD soon, so any speculation made on lyrics at this point is just in a desperate attempt to have it as soon as possible ;) and I thoroughly enjoy finding out if my suspicions are correct or not.... (p.s. I feel like I am ranting in a clinical manner, and far too professionally for any forum topic so I'm just gonna stop now. sorry to whoever reads this...) <3 <3 <3

As much as I love "Take the Pill" I watched the video complete just now and it's fantastic but still it frightens me at the same time. I think I hear "I'm just a crazy girl" at the end in the chaotic lyrics and damn... it just... you know it feels so horrible. I know all this and the song is so, so, so right and so, so, so wrong. It's like holding up a mirror on the things you never wanted to see again but that are still forever in your face and in your heart and in your mind and person.

Sorry for the slightly.. weird and confusing post.

As she debuts new songs at each venue, is she keeping them on the setlist for others? So down the road some lucky concert might actually get to hear the entirety of FLAG?

I have to say, Take the Pill might be my favourite with Gaslight as a close second. The vocals for TTP sound fantastic since they're securely in her range; they're strong and very haunting. I like it!

I'm not sure how I feel about Take the Pill yet. For the most part I like it but the end of it has yet to grow on me. But I have to say that based on what I heard that is going to be a song I really relate to. Because it's so fucking true.
