EA confession blog.... Thoughts?

Know what... Just don't give a fu**!

I know what you mean because I get extremely sad when I read insulting comments about EA. But I told myself not to read such things anymore. Those people who write them don't understand EA or her music. They are just rude and reckless and disrespectful and really stupid because they judge somebody without knowing this person or her/his work. If someone doesn't like her music - ok. But if someone insults EA without a reason then this person is just blind and silly.
Don't try to explain those people why EA is great because they won't ever understand! Trying to explain EA or her art or just why people should be tolerant and not rude would be a huge waste of your time and your energy!

I'm so happy I can be part of the Asylum! Here are all those wonderful people who think before they speak and who would never insult a person just because he/she looks strange or makes "crazy" music or something like that...

Well, it's not that much hate on EA only. It's more from rat to rat mostly. When some PR adds an opinion, another rat adds another opinion.

That's kind of sad. When I see other confession blogs, it's not like that at all.

I was of course a bit sad, that people spread that much hatred. But EA's not perfect, nobody is. Maybe that's hard to realize, I don't know. I wasn't admiring her as a Godess, but I sure learned something from that blog anyway!

I've never really been bothered by the hate blog, because it just seems like these people are really wasting their time. They don't really seem to have anything better to do, right? Probably. That's what it seems like. I'm sad, though, that people would waste their time bashing on someone they apparently hate when they could be doing something better with their time.

Ugh, I totally agree on this. I saw it the other week. Reading through the negative comments, I just thought 'good god, how are people so bored and self absorbed that they feel the need to actively go this blog, think hmm, I'll write something I don't like about EA, write it up, and submit it for the world to see.' If you don't like an artist, then don't listen to the music, but don't contribute to a website that basically passes judgement on someone that probably 99% of these people have never met and spent a considerable amount of time with. I'm not saying all the comments are negative - they're not- but why waste time/energy focusing on your newfound distaste for someone rather than supporting someone you do like and relate to? Don't let this get you down - people are feeling evermore entitled these days because of the internet...

The worst confessions I've seen have been about a muffin in particular, not about EA or the crumpets, and it got published. This girl was then flamed with nonstop anon hatemail that she still gets from time to time telling her to go kill herself.

This girl is 14.

^ That is shocking. I'd expect more, particularly from muffins of EA. How they can tell a girl to kill herself, and still be a muffin of EA who deals with these really tough subjects in her music, makes no sense.

Wow, Kiska! Emilie would be so sad if she knew about this. I understand the blog is not going down because of freedom of speech but when it comes to this is something dangerous and mayor and that's not good. Yes, I have seen some muffins hating each other there too, which is normal, only because a person is a muffin doesn't mean that I have to like them or anything but still... I find it pretty stupid, the whole concept of the blog. There are artists out there that I simply cannot stand and I don't go to their sites to publish bullshit about them, I don't even care! Oh, wait, I forgot that in this blog are the same EA muffins written. Even worst!

Emilie is human, regardless of some of the things she's done or said... In my opinion, her only crime is making the best of a bad situation and some people don't like or can't relate to it, so they lash out. She's said before that she does this for herself. If she's doing what makes her happy, why is everyone giving her such a hard time? After reading this blog I feel ashamed to be part of the fanbase...

Soo i recently have just found this Confessions tumblr deal too and shit, girl, you stole them words right outa mah mouth. I seriously don't understand why these things have to be thrown onto the internet- yes they are their opinions but some are hateful ones, ones that rather just be thought than said.

The only confessions i agree with are the ones where muffins confess that they feel uncomfortable telling other PR's that they have a disorder or are having issues, as they will be accused of whatever. I find myself withdrawing a lot of information in the forums, despite how much this is supposed to be an open "sanctuary." what bout you guys?

Well, that's probably because this forum isn't really an open "sanctuary" anymore. It lost much of the freedoms it used to have. Just look three years ago and you will find none of the topics or sections were monitored by mod approval only. It was a much safer forum that truly felt like a sanctuary. Sure there were a few scuffles here and there, but nothing like the last few this forum has endured. At least the forum was held together back then. It almost fell completely apart the last downturn.

As for the tumbler site, I never really pay much attention to it. Some are legitimate complaints, others complete fabrications. In the end, it doesn't really matter because there's not much anyone can do about it. All that matters is what you personally feel about EA and anyone associated with her. It's true those kind of sites can skew a person's perception of their image and that's unfortunate. My opinion is that it comes with the territory as a person's fame increases.

Consider it similar to actors or famous celebrities getting stories made on tabloids. I think most people understand that analogy. I try to judge people based on personal experience and not what others say about them, especially anonymous sources.

This forum has always been supportive to people that confessed their disorders, I have been here for almost 3 years (well, I haven't been very active since last October when I got my life back finally, but I check it often) and never saw anybody attacking forumers for discussing their issues, and I never saw anybody accusing somebody else to pretend being like Emilie. This thing is like a urban legend.

I do believe that these people se what they want to see, because, seriously, we do respect their opinions (as long as they are constructive and not simple insults...) but if we challenge them with our different ones, it doesn't mean that we are denying their right to express their thoughts, we are simply saying that we think differently. It is very clear, but apparently, if we don't worship their opinion and call ourselves "fangirls" it means that we don't accept what they say.
And it's funny, because if somebody believes in freedom, they should apply it to everybody.
And the fact that they choose the anon way to express themselves, well it explains a lot of things...

I have no words for the fact reported by Kiska, if they want to protect themselves by writing anonimously they MUST respect other people identity too.

And we are the bad ones?

i wouldn't dismiss the negative opinions as people that have nothing better to do with their time than hate on someone they don't know.

Understand that people get into Emilie Autumn because they feel a connection to her, to the art she creates. for whatever reasons people feel a break in that connection and it has an impact on them. they are allowed to vent the frustration and process it in the same way that others are allowed to express their love for her. some of them will be negative, some of them you will not like, but they are just as valid and have just as much right to be expressed.

a lot of that stuff doesn't necessarily happen in the open, and just because you haven't seen it doesn't mean it never happened.
and this place really isn't as much of a sanctuary as it used to be for many people.
