EA confession blog.... Thoughts?

I followed it for a little while but I got really irritated that it was basically a platform to spread hate I unfollowed.

I just get sick of people complaining about her all the time. How can you call yourself a muffin if all you do is complain??

To be honest the worst thing that came from the blog was hate directed towards the owner of the original one, she ended up in a psych ward a number of times from getting death threats.

This forum has always been supportive to people that confessed their disorders, I have been here for almost 3 years (well, I haven't been very active since last October when I got my life back finally, but I check it often) and never saw anybody attacking forumers for discussing their issues, and I never saw anybody accusing somebody else to pretend being like Emilie. a lot of that stuff doesn't necessarily happen in the open, and just because you haven't seen it doesn't mean it never happened.

Ok, that could be. But, again, there's absolutely no reason to stereotype a whole forum for that.
If few people behave like idiots, what fault does the whole forum have?
Because I see no confession talking about "Some users", they basically talk about "The forum", "The Community", "The Boards". I don't feel offended by the confessions, because I am not very active right now on here (and even I was, I wouldn't care anyway), but, honestly I can't stand general talking about particular accidents.

I guess the story is that Veva and her had planned it before-hand? I've only read/heard a couple things about it since it exploded on that blog, but I do know that the blog never put out her name (went back and checked out of curiosity). I think she said something about it herself after people started posting about it.

Blogs like these are nothing but trouble. All they do is start arguments and hurt others. However the few that are positive can be really sweet <3

Emilie is not the poster girl for perfection, she's got her flaws as well. some major flaws, including childish and unprofessional behaviour. if it really hurts her oh so very much to get called out on them perhaps she should 1. grow tougher skin and 2. do what it takes to rectify the bad behaviour she's being called out on.

i reiterate that people are/were big muffins of Emilie because they felt a connection with her through her music. that connection is being tested and/or severed and that has an impact on people. they have every right to vent their frustrations and disappointments and process it same as others have the right to fawn over the woman. they should be allowed to do so without having to worry about overzealous plague rats bringing their wrath on them. like it or not, those negative opinions are just as valid as the positive.

It's just a confessions blog. Like the hundreds of other confession blogs on tumblr for just about every other band/artist/movie/book/video game/fandom ever.

Confessions get submitted by people, whether positive or negative, and the admins post them without bias regardless of their personal opinions in order to help people get things off their chests. A lot of people are afraid of the backlash that can come from saying anything negative about EA on the forum or other muffin places, but venting is healthy and the confessional helps fill that need.
If you don't think there are enough positive confessions, submit some, and they'll be posted too.
Or, if not, there's the Spreading a Plague of Love tumblr that is exclusively positive confessions.

(I also don't understand why people act like the vast majority of the confessions are negative. I don't follow the blog and I can't access it at this moment, but I have looked through it quite a few times and it seems more even- like 60% negative, 40% positive, which makes sense since when people have positive things to say they're more likely to just post it on their regular tumblrs with their names attached than submit it anonymously to a confession blog).

Honestly though, I don't think it should be discussed here. It exists away from the main fandom for a reason (namely, to avoid hurting anyone's feelings as best as possible without censoring the opinions of those who submit confessions), and I think EA's team and the people who run it would prefer it stay that way.

There are so many things that I'd like to say about the entire matter, but I'd probably end up offending or pissing off at least one person, so I won't even consider typing out my opinion. xD (If anyone wants to PM me and have a discussion about this, go for it...)

Also, about the whole "14 year old playing the rat game blah blah blah", a lot of that has been twisted. Veronica and the girl know each other very well, and the girl's mother was fine with it. It was only a kiss, after all. Again, if anyone wants to talk about that, PM me. I don't know if she'd want every detail pasted all over the forum. The bottom line is, people were being absolutely fucking disgusting towards her, and she was completely undeserving of it all,

Personally, I both like and dislike the blog (or more the confessions, the blog set up is nice) some days I'll see a bunch of positive confessions, and I'll tend to reblog those more often than the negative ones, however, some of the negative ones do make sense, to a point. The confessions that I can't stand are the ones that seem to just be submitted to cause an argument or just try to get people mad. But that is just my opinion.

Side note: Troll Like A Girl is pretty funny though :3

The problem with this blog is that half of these confessins are based on ignorant statements. And when you try to correct them, they call you rabid Plague Rat. I know that not everyone reads every interview but shit...some things were repeated so often that it's really hard not to know about them and yet, they still don't know.

Exactly.
There are a few very offensive and ignorant confessions,but I just ignore them and go on living my life.There's more hate in the reblogs than in the posts themselves (though at times I go 'Oh,GOD!Can this fandom be happy with ANYTHING?' but then I realize the blog doesn't picture the whole fanbase).
Besides,I check it daily because of the pics.Ah.

I like that people are able to speak their mind (and I know you know that). I feel like sometimes I'm scared to say certain things on here because people might take me as a rude person instead of just getting an opinion across.

Also, I educated myself about a lot of the backstory and other things about the fandom through the confessions blog as well as She Fights Like a Girl. I found them very useful.

I blame all this on the Internet in the general. It gave people who might have had no voice in a certain situation something terribly annoying: an anonymous voice. If you met the posters on the confessions blog in person and asked them about their posts, I bet you they would take back what they said in a heartbeat. I am fine with negative opinions - I too have negative opinions of people/things I used to like - but the thing that bothers me is the bashing.

As someone who plays a lot of MMOs online, people are just nasty in general. It doesn't matter if it's an EA confessions blog or a round of some multiplayer, online game: some people are just downright pathetic, rude and disrespectful. On the other hand, there are anonymous voices that do good in the world/on the Internet. Like the whole deal with SOPA. But there's not enough.

Anyways, a bit off-topic. Boo to the haters. That is all.
