It does. Especially how it drags on and has down time, like boss battle music would have before looping.

Creator of the remix popping in here- I gotta say I'm flattered by all the love. I lurked around here a year ago and shared this song, but I'm sure it didn't get around to everyone. It's just a fun little fan-work by a regular guy, so it's really cool to see you all are finding it from the nooks of the internet. I've had some classical training and been writing a fair amount of music for several years, but nothing professional or famous. I'm here if you want to ask anything or comment!

I thought it was you. I was thinking this sounded familiar or that there use to be guy on here that created this kind of experimental work. You are very talented. :)

The first minute or so reminds me of Pirates Of The Caribbean.

The melody at the beginning reminds me of old videos games opening music ...like those in dark castles . But is undeniably awesome to the ear :)

@Plague Doctor - I was curious as to how you came up with the movements between the second chorus and the "Doubt thou the stars are fire" bridge. I.e. The guitar solo section. I'm also curious as to why you chose the instrument you chose for the melody of "intelligent girls are more depressed" section. It feel very much like a film noir there :]

@Tanith Kamelot
Yep, the verse sections have a lot of Pirates style. Not trying to literally copy it, but totally going for the same spirit.

@Kiska
Well, one of my main goals of the song was to extend it out by giving more time to the two baroque melodies from the intro and bridge. Everything in that middle section is an arrangement of the two, with the crazy guitar part loosely improvising on part of the intro melody. Back at the intelligent girls part I wanted a sudden shock of quiet to boost interest levels for the long middle section. A jazzy clarinet solo with some soft brushed snares just clicked as the perfect change of pace.

^ Makes sense! It was lovely :] How long did it take for you to compose/record this?

Maybe something like 2 weeks? I forget now, it was a year ago, but I was really focused on it. I made it during the trial period of Cubase after I doodled out some other music and got the hang of the program.
I can only wish I had the spirit to work like that all the time instead of derping around on the internet...

Don't we all? :/ I'll admit - I have Cubase too. I've had it for a good year, but I haven't really used it yet because of internet fun things.
