I'm just curious to know what other people's parents think of Emilie Autumn.

Mine think she is a Scary Goth from the Planet Crazy (which is just so...wrong). I never play any of her stuff around them because they go completely nuts. They just can't stand it. My dad thought some of the Laced/Unlaced stuff was cool. Until he saw a picture of her. I had a computer wallpaper with Emilie on it, and they made me take it off because they thought it was "creepy". +sigh+ They just don't understand...

So do you're parents (or friends, or anyone else) have problems with Emilie Autumn?

My mom only likes the Enchant songs and the classical all-violin songs.
She doesn't really like her though. But she's happy for me that I "have somebody".

Oh and all of my friends dislike Emilie. Some do like On A Day.. or What If, but that's it.
No wait, one of my friends, she is really into heavy metal (Metallica, Slayer, Iron Maiden etc. etc.) and she absolutely likes the violindustrial songs like Face The Wall and Manic Depression! :D She'd like to visit a concert of EA. ^__^ But she's the only one yes.

My parents think it's ok. They do like her all violin album On A Day... just because it's classical and they do like some songs of Enchant because they are Poppish and not the Metal or Rock stuff I normally listen too. But they hate the Opheliac songs because it's too much noise and to much screaming in stead of normal singing.

My friends don't like her either. One of them think it's not metal enough, she only listens to Black and Death Metal because that is noise. The other one doesn't like female voices, ok they both don't like a female voice. I can't understand why not.

My sister hates her, can't stand her voice not her music. I have one friend who likes her and he's going to the concert with me, ok he takes me because he drives a car :)

my dad calls her the freaky violin girl. Honestly, they don't consider her to be very hardcore or anything. My parents are pretty much cool with me listening to anything i want, as long as it's not rap/hiphop/&stuff like that. That's the stuff they can't stand (not a muffin of it myself) My mom gets worried a lot though, cause she's afraid my liking all this stuff will lead to me not making any friedns, but i've found a slew of people who love her, so it's all good.

I never put the cd on for my mother and said 'here have a listen', but I made her order the Opheliac cd and she has walked in my room when I'm listening to it. Her reaction to seeing Emilie and listening to her was to raises her eyebrows and say 'well if this is what you into' or soemthing along those lines.
I love my mother sometimes. She always does stuff like point out clothes and go 'look at that horrible top, you'd really like that wouldn't you?' She's generally right.

As for my friends. Well one liked a couple of songs and not some others. Then my other friend said she's a bit boring and can't sing. Which of all the things she might have said, I wasn't expecting that.

My parents simply think I have a "weird" taste in music, but have never commented directly on Emilie's music. I don't think they've heard much of it to be honest (seeing as I no longer live with them...)

One of my friends knows who EA is, and although he has only heard one track, said he quite liked what he heard. I'm currently in the process of trying to persuade him to listen to some more of her stuff.

As for my other friends... none of them even know who she is, and I have long given up interesting them in the music I listen to.

Seeing as I rarely speak to my parents about anything, they don't really know who she is. They deeply disapprove of my tattoos though.

...Well, I'm going to break the mould.

My dad, mum and sister all like emilie autumn. They think it's a little wierd, but they like it and call it good music.

Most of my friends also think the music is a bit wierd, but they understand that it's well written and skillful music. A few of my friends are muffins of EA.

My Mom thinks Emilie is very pretty, but she doesnt like her music so much. But its not her thing, so whatever. And she doesnt understand why Im so into Ms.Autumn's music.

My friends really havent listened to Emilie. I mean I'll put it on or something and they dont notice it.

My cousin has a problem with her, but my cousin has a problem with everything so she doesnt count.

I'm X and don't really share my interests with my parents. Love them, but don't see the reason to share. :D

You're lucky. I'm X, so my parents are very "into" what I'm doing. For the past 2 years i've been wanting to dress more hardcore, and do funkier things with my makeup. But my mother is kind of against that sort of stuff. Guess I'll just wait until I go off to collage. Only 2 more years

It's not so bad that they're paying attention to you. Yeah it's annoying though. But it makes college that much more fun :)

When I was your age I loved the goth look, but my mom wouldn't go for it. That's why it's so much more fun when I do it now :D

My parents don't really hear the music I listen to, since I mostly use my iPod. They would hate it though (except for the classical songs), I'm sure. My cousin's heard some when I was giving him a ride home, and he didn't like it, but we're respectful of our musical differences :)

My boyfriend introduced me to EA, so he obviously likes her. And he thinks she's really pretty too. It's kind of funny, he listens to more chick music than I do. The other day I said something about her, then I told him that I've developed a girl crush on her. He laughed and said he'd noticed, lol.

I'm hoping she'll tour N. America soon so we can see her live. I'm guessing that she puts on a fun show.
