I think that if you're using flash only take a few pictures (which is what i did). That way they won't be pissed because you're blinding them and you get to properly enjoy the show.

BTW, flash usually isn't the way to get the best pictures. Good advice here! (The article is meant for almost-pro or very-involved-amateur photographers, but it still gives good ideas.)

I and many others consider flash photography, during a show, to be rude and disrespectful, to both the performers and the audience. In fact, most venues explicitly state that flash photography is not allowed.

Most point and shoot cameras will allow you to force the flash off and to select a mode for low light situations. I suggest practicing some low light shots, with no flash, so you can be prepared on what settings your camera works best in those situations.

For some reason, I get a touch of concert anxiety. And having this list to remind me calmed me down. Magic. Thank you for compiling it!

^ Oh, I agree. That would also be helpful.

Well, I think it's different every time.

The first time I saw her VIP was in 2009. We got to hear part of TAFWVG and kind of chat as a group then were lined up for one photo with her on a stage, an autograph, and quick chat with her.
The second time was this February after she had to reschedule a couple of shows due to being ill. She played violin for us while we sampled some of her tea then we lined up to take a photo, get our plague rat painting, and get autographs leaning over a table. She wasn't supposed to talk to us because the VIP was before the show and she barely had a voice as it was. She talked to us anyway cause no one is able to shut her up :P

It usually depends on the venue you're at, what's offered for the VIP package that time around, and the people that are there. Both times we were only allowed one photo with Emilie. We weren't supposed to videotape anything as the show this year just because she didn't have much of a voice, people videotaped anyway.

Thank you so much :) is there a "line" as to how much one can get signed?

i know i have TAFWVG, Enchant(book edition) and the vip extra's i would love to get signed. but i dont particularily want to seem greedy... its just for me its not everyday you meet your idol...
should i just choose at the most of two?

There's a limit of one thing being signed (although, sometimes EA is naughty and signs two).

It really sucks that there is also only 1 photo because last time my photo completely sucked and i couldn't do it again..
Oh well it's just a photo anyway but still.

It was also very rushed because they were kinda late.

Haha, I know how you feel. That picture I took with EA last time is absolutely horrid... of course EA looks amazing, but I certainly don't! This may sound embarassing, but I think I'm actually going to practise faces in front of the mirror this time

Also, I have two things I really want to get signed, just like you #7269. I am actually already fretting over which item I want to get signed most. Maybe we'll get lucky and she'll sign two items this VIP time round?

You could just take the items with you and see if she wants to sign them.
If she doesn't well at least you will have had the opportunity.
