About people saying that her muffins are rabid and will bite your head off if you disagree with her....I feel like a lot of those muffins are either:

A) New muffins who are going through that special phase,
B) The ones who depend on her too much for any specific reason, and feel like they have a personal relationship with her because of it, or
C) They're just obsessed and really are rabid.

(This is the Green category. I'm categorizing all of you now. :P )

I wonder if EA has any opinions on those kinds of muffins, or if she even knows that they exist (the type of muffin, not the muffins themselves.)
But I feel like all of her muffins go through either of those phases at some point. A lot of muffin bases have them.
What's sad is that these get the most attention, so everyone thinks that this is what all of her muffins are like. That's not true. A lot of us are able to form our own opinions on the things she does, instead of just saying that she's always right. Some muffins happen to agree with her more than others do, as well. It doesn't make them blind sheep or anything. Maybe EA's just a lot like them in her behaviour and actions.

I'm leanings towards being C and a little bit of B. At one point I was A. Though I can't claim I'm a new muffin anymore. :P Ok, ok I may not be totally rabid, but I am obsessed. Maybe a bit more than I should be, but is it so wrong? I admire and respect her music and her as a person. I know she has flaws, but I don't care about that. She's one of the few artists that's really touched my heart. If she happens to drop a muffin, step all over it, and smear it's guts all over the floor, I can sometimes empathize with the broken muffin. However, that still doesn't change the way I feel about her.

I don't think that it's wrong to be obsessed with her (well, not unless you plan on skinning her and hanging her hide on your wall...that's not cool,) it's just that those things can be justifications (using that term loosely) for the actions of the more extreme muffins who will try to rip other muffins apart for something as small as disagreeing with her.

And I'm not saying that every muffin who's obsessed does that. Just that some of the muffins who do that are obsessed. :P

I can understand depending on her, though. I did that for a long time because her music had helped through a really rough time, so I felt a personal connection. I think that it can be dangerous for some muffins to hold onto that, however.

What's wrong with that?

I have never felt as though any opinion I may have that disagrees with EA's actions was under threat. I keep getting this notion that I don't disagree with her enough in order to be considered a non-obsessed plague rat, if that makes sense.

For one, she wouldn't be alive to sing anymore. :P

@TAO-Quite frankly, I don't think anyone should care if other people in the fanbase view them as an obsessed muffin. If they have a problem, it's exactly just that: their problem.

When Emilie released the Opheliac Deluxe (with The End Records), there was a controversial topic about it in which one member of the forum was banned for telling Emilie to relax and take it easy (since some muffins were saying bad things about her and Emilie was actually reading and writing on that same topic) and that she was acting that way only because she was bipolar (which for all of you who have read the book know this is one of the worst things you can say to her), but what I wanted to say was that in that same topic, once the tracklist was released, and I saw it was the same Opheliac with anything new, just some live recordings of old songs I posted:
Quote:
I am so NOT buying that.

And Emilie read it and quoted me replying:
Quote:
Thank you. I will survive.

And you have no clue how extremely bad I felt by that. Not about what she said to me but about how much my comment and some others on that topic hurt her. I must admit that I cried a lot and felt horrible with myself and the only thing I could think of was that Emilie had saved my life and here I come, acting like a fucking bitch and hurting her feelings without realizing that this re-release was in fact a very good things for so many muffins who don't have it that easy to find her cds and this way they could actually get Opheliac with some extra stuff too. I don't know if this makes me a blind muffin or what, some of you must know by reading me in this forum that I don't always agree with what she does or say. But I will never hurt her again. She has done a lot for me. She just doesn't deserve that treatment from my part and so I will never do it again.

^I can understand how that would hurt, but I can also see where she's coming from too. Either way, on the bright side, you're a mod on her forums now. :) That means something I guess, right? Plus I assume she forgot about your comment anyway by now.

I remember reading through that topic when I was more of a lurker and it was a mess... I don't blame her for being offended, but she did overreact. I mean when I get stressed I tend to get defensive and snarky, and I can see how someone can come off as 'bitchy' to some outsiders for that.

Basically I don't entirely agree with her actions from that event, but I can see exactly how and why she could get that upset so I sympathize. Don't excuse it, but sympathize, enough to understand that it's not the way she acts all the time and not to judge her based on that.

I don't think she sounded hurt, more like 'What's your point?' which I guess kind of make sense. I mean, EA is not announcing it to read posts on whether you are buying it or not. I think EA desires a lot of support from her plague rats when she does things and I guess she gets upset when she sees her plague rats be otherwise. Not that she is demanding her plague rats to %100 agree with her all the time but I guess for them to be overall supportive.

@INMATE_W17S ~ That sucks, that you felt so terrible about it. :( I agree that it sounded more like she was annoyed than hurt though - like, "why are you telling me this? I posted it for the ones who care".

Yeah, there definitely are muffins who do that, but not all are. I just don't like the fact that people seem to think we're all like that.

Oh, I never wrote my last post to say how bad she was towards me and how she hurt my feelings. I wrote it for the opposite, to let you all know that I felt bad for hurting her. She didn't hurt me with those words, I hurt myself by telling her, who is so special to me, something that hurt her. For that I felt heartbroken.

I understood that though, and assumed the others did too.
I know it feels terrible to feel like you've hurt someone.

Sad to hear this, I hope I have never done that to another muffin (or non-muffin). [face_worried] If I did, my humble apologies. In general I think we all have the right to respectfully disagree with everyone.

About Emilie Autumn's attitude towards muffins: I agree with Céline that she's a great person if you meet her, but on the internet it really depends on her mood and what happened. What bothers me most is all the drama that's she gets caught up in (think Lady Gaga, MSI, people whining for free tickets)all the time.

I like that she's straight-forward with her opinion, but sarcasm translates really bad on twitter O.O Still don't know how serious she was about the Lady Gaga thing. I don't think she needs to censor herself at all, she can say what she wants, but things translate really badly sometimes on the internet and people are going to react, they have the right so too. I adore Emilie Autumn, but I just don't want all the drama. Sometimes I am really just too tired to have another opinion about something that she said/did. Then I listen to her music and it makes me like her again :)

So yeah, in short, Emilie Autumn is a great woman with a golden heart and a fantastic artist, but the drama around her makes me really tired sometimes.
