Well, we still haven't FLAG in our paws and EA gives us another thing to crave for: the officially announced Asylum
Musical in 2014. :)
What do you think about?

I think it will be amazing, but I think 2014 will become... Far away as we're reaching it xD

I already said this before but I will say it again now: Even Emilie has announced this as a real thing, I believe (and I have personal reasons to believe this) that is not actually confirmed, meaning that EA and the people at the West End haven't talked about it, etc... I think that this is the plan EA has in mind and she is announcing it as something real but I don't think it is real as yet. I don't know how to explain this better :Z :>

I'm hoping it is true so we can get some new material that isn't directly related to the book. The book is great, don't get me wrong, but I really want to hear some songs not directly connected; songs about EA or her life or things that interest her.

I am excited about the musical, though. I think it would be awesome to see/hear.

But I don't get your statement. If she does the Asylum: The Musical, all of the new songs are gonna be related to the book and singing about parts in the book. That's what the whole point of this musical is.

^ I think she means that once the musical is out and has had its run, Emilie will start to write music not about the asylum anymore and will be done with that period of her life.

I just can't wait to be seated at an EA concert. I don't see the point of standing up for such a theatrical piece of art. With a seated audience everyone can see, everyone is comfortable and one may still scream and flail arms if one so chooses. Being squashed in amongst strangers adds to the experience of a rock concert but just doesn't work for other genres. Albeit EA audiences are generally pretty relaxed already, but still. I'm short, others are shorter, and there's nothing worse than not being able to physically see the concert you've been dreaming of since forever and queued hours to try to see.

Basically seated = woo! Civilised! Equality of concert enjoyment! Happy shorties!

Also, a cast of thirty Asylum characters in pretty pretty costumes and full-on choreography with the full Asylum story set to brand new music?

Stop my heart, I've forgotten how to breathe.

^ I completely agree with you. I'm short too (1.58 xD) and I'm the one that on a second row can't see anything. Fortunately I was in the first row 2ys ago :D on the other hand, if we were seated EA couldn't touch us and lean on the crowd as she does. I remembered touching her freezy and wet arm *.*
Anyway I think that if the asylum musical will become reality we will have seats :)
Uh! Cool thought :) Imagine a cooperation between Emilie and Tim Burton for the musical. That would be amazing!!

^ Oh, I love Tim Burton! That'd be awesome. But I don't think that's how she'd do it.

But I understand why people doubt this. I mean.. Maybe she haven't talked to the people yet.. Maybe it's cancelled or something.. Not to be rude, but that would be so EA. And I don't think that I'd get to see it anyway. The musical. It's going to be english, and I'm from Denmark. But I'd gladly translate it. ;)

Yes, this is exactly what I mean. I like the book, but I feel that since it's released that's the only thing that EA has been focusing on. I liked Opheliac so much because of the references to literature and such, and there is less (maybe none) so far in FLAG.

I wondering if the FLAG songs will make an appearance too, or if they will be all new songs?

I would love to see this, if it ever happens. I won't get my hopes up yet, because I guess it's not for definite, but I can imagine that if it does happen it will be amazing.

She has stated before that FLAG is only part of the soundtrack for the musical, meaning that the album will contain, let's say 10-15 songs but when the musical actually happens they will be many new songs added to it. This is just a part of it.
Anyway, even though I have my doubts about this actually happening, if it happens I am going to see it. No questions.

Listening to the new songs they definitely have a musical atmosphere about them, like 'Gaslight' and 'Girls Girls Girls' ...there was one at a certain point where I felt it was very Les Mis inspired (can't remember which).

Cannot wait!

@Inmate-W17s, can you please explain what you mean by 'personal reasons'? Unless you've spoken to EA and-or the producers in person I don't see how you could know this.

Sorry girls, I have to post it. Somewhere. Just a thing that came to my mind. Here it is, pardon xD

" Isn't a oddly FUNNY thing that some bipolar batteries need Lithium?" XD

Sorry, it was really bad, but my mind is confused by Chemistry lessons :)
